Let’s be real… green veggies and I have a complicated relationship.

They’re like that responsible friend who’s always on time ⏰, drinks water 💧, and does yoga at sunrise 🧎🏾‍♀️♀️—while I’m still trying to convince myself that fries 🍟 count as a vegetable (they don’t, unfortunately).

But here I am, trying to get my life together—one broccoli floret at a time 🥦.

And let me tell you… discipline tastes a lot like kale 🥬. Bitter. But good for you.

 

 

The Struggle Is Real 😩

I knew I needed to get serious when I looked in the mirror 🪞 and my skin whispered, “Girl, we need chlorophyll.”

So I committed: green stuff on my plate at every meal 🍽️.

Day 1: “I’m thriving ✨. I’m glowing ✨. I’m basically a plant 🌱.”

Day 3: “If I see another spinach leaf, I’m calling the police 🚨.”

Day 5: “I wonder if mint chocolate chip ice cream counts as a green veggie…” 🍦 (It doesn’t.)

 

 

Discipline vs. Delusion

Discipline means choosing the salad 🥗 even when your heart says pizza 🍕.

Discipline is steaming your broccoli 🥦 while everyone else at the table is having mac and cheese 🧀.

Discipline is whispering “I love you” to your green juice 🧃 while gagging just a little.

But guess what? That discipline pays off 💅.

Your skin starts clearing ✨.

Your energy goes up ⚡.

You’re pooping like a regular queen 👑.

It’s giving: internal luxury spa 💆🏾‍♀️♀️.

Meanwhile, your inner child is in the background like: “Where the gummy worms at?” 🍬

Ignore her. She’s dramatic.

Tips to Stay on the Green Train 🚂🥬

(Without losing your mind)

  1. Make it cute: Throw your greens in a smoothie 🥤 with pineapple 🍍 and frozen mango 🥭. Add a glass straw 🥄. Feel fancy.
  2. Roast it up: Brussels sprouts with garlic and olive oil? Game changer 🧄🔥.
  3. Disguise it: Throw spinach in your pasta sauce 🍝. It’ll never see it coming.
  4. Name your veggies: I named my asparagus “Ashanti” and now we hang out on Tuesdays 😂.
  5. Lie to yourself if needed: “This kale chip is basically a Dorito” 😭. Say it enough times, and it’ll feel true.

Final Thoughts 🧠

Staying disciplined with green veggies is like dating someone who’s good for you but not always fun 💔➡️💚.

But over time… you fall in love.

With the results. With how your body feels.

And yes—even with the broccoli 🥦.

So cheers to us 🥂. The ones who are trying.

Who are steaming and blending and pretending kale is delicious.

We’re out here growing… just like our little leafy friends 🌿.
